In Memoriam - Doug McNea
Written by Brian Darby
Sunday, 20 March 2011

A good friend to taxpayers, to Libertarians, and to those who knew him.

Doug McNea died overnight on March 19-20, after collapsing at a party held during the semi-annual Republican state convention in Sacramento.

Doug was a tireless defender of liberty against government intrusion, dedicating his spare time to the Silicon Valley Taxpayers Association and the Republican party. Doug contributed to countless ballot arguments against new taxes, including most of the local measures on the November 2010 ballot in Santa Clara County.

As a libertarian-minded Republican, his slow, thoughtful manner of speaking brought calm and common sense to any issue he tackled.

Doug was 64.

Sign Candidate Petitions!
Written by Brian Darby
Tuesday, 12 January 2010

Libertarian Candidates are popping up all over and YOU can help.

By signing a Petition In-Lieu of Filing Fee, you can save our candidates money - at no cost to yourself.

Simply download the petition, sign it and contact the candidate to deliver it.
The DEADLINE for the ROVs to receive the petitions is Feb 25th.

Kennita Watson for State Board of Equalization, District 1
Paul Lazaga for U.S. Congress, 14th District
Nick Langston for United States Representative, District 15
Edward Gonzales for United States Representative, District 16
Ray Bell for State Assembly, 21st District
Savely (Savva) Vassiliev for State Assembly, District 27

Two page petitions need to be printed on both sides of one sheet of paper. The petitions are to be returned to the County Registrar of Voters in the county of the petition signers. Often it is better to return them to the candidate and let them return the petitions to the right place.
